Niewiele jest miejsc na świecie gdzie Wschód miesza się z Zachodem tak perfekcyjnie jak tu. Dziś o tej tradycyjnej, chińskiej twarzy Hong Kongu. Żadna to też niespodzianka, że wpis ten w dużej mierze będzie o jedzeniu – bo to jeden z głównych gwoździ programu wizyty tu, w końcu mają tu ponad 60 restauracji z gwiazdką Michelin, i to niektóre z nich naprawdę przystępne cenowo!
I kolejna, oaza spokoju pośród wielkiego blokowiska – Chi Lin Nunnery:
No i last, but not least – jedzenie! Gwóźdź programu niejednej wizyty w Hong Kongu:
"Life is a painting, and you are the artist. Your palette has all the colors in the spectrum - same ones available to Michaelangelo and DaVinci."
Paul J. Meyer

It was such a good move to come to Bali before the covid craziness ended! 😊 Being able to experience the island free of tourists and with its authentic vibe was well worth paying for few days of quarantine and the pcr test before boarding the ✈️ among other stressful events.
Now, when the streets are full again and many locals started thinking in Australian 💵🙄🤑, I miss it a lot. Of course I know how important it is for Balinese to, after a 2 years break, earn their living on tourism which they strongly depend on, we just have conflict of interests 😅
I spent February and March traveling around the island as much as possible, rushing to visit popular places that I'd probably never go to otherwise, before Indonesia reopened its borders and tourists started flowing in masses literally the next day. So happy I could be the only foreign visitor in this lake temple that moment 😍

NEW Beginnings ✨
What am I doing in Indonesia again after leaving for Poland FOR GOOD last year? xD
I'm certainly not the only one whom Covid left hopeless, jobless, heartbroken etc. Literally EVERY area of my life changed. After 7 years of running two busy hostels and being surrounded by people 24/7, my introvert nature took over and demanded more attention 🧘♀️ Closed the business that I often called "my child" and decided to learn new skills, entered the IT world saying I'm done both with Indonesia and with work in tourism. Important life lesson: never say never, always, forever. (spoiler alert: already missing interacting with people more 😅)
Took me only 9 months there to re-learn why Europe isn't my place on Earth. I left just on time: a month before the war and that crazy inflation that Poland faces now. Don't wanna say NEVER, but not going back any time soon ;)
It's always exciting, but also super scary to start anew. Feels like I'm just a first-timer here. It's my 1st time living in Indonesia that is not Java. Every day it hits me how Java-centered my view of the country was. Still trying to find balance between simple local life I lived before and a bubble that most expats live in on Bali, a "paradise island"
Let's see what surprises life has for me this time 😏
Thanks for sticking around! ❤️
Another one of Balinese celebrations today, Kuningan day 🎁👻
It's the day when spirits come back home after spending 10days of Galungan on our Earth.
Hence today's offerings are more generous than normally, they need some lunch to take away 😉 Look, the spirits even got some pocket money! 🤑
Balinese also hang small decorations in front of the houses to protect them from evil forces, being also a reminder of karma.
So much meaning to each of these little things! Happy holiday, Bali, thanks for being so good to me! 😊

- Hey, look, she is taking a photo of us, smile!
- nooo, malu (Indonesian for 'shy') ☺️
It's often cute, but often frustrating how Indonesians react to seeing a ' bule' (a word
meaning "white skin foreigner", theoretically neutral that despite it I dislike so much). Sometimes hiding and avoiding conversation, assuming that if they can't speak English (as if all of bules spoke English? 😂), they won't be able to communicate with us, sometimes giggling or pointing us with the finger, but many times also just being overly nice and asking many questions out of pure curiosity. Not having any bad intentions, but surely not leaving "us" being unnoticed 😅 I, especially living here for already so many years, don't like feeling like there is "us" and "them", even if in "their" eyes "we" might be "better" in some way (white skin is considered beautiful, straight noses too), I'd prefer to be just transparent than an object of constant attention, even if sometimes it gives me some privileges 😅 so, Indonesian or Polish, maybe next time you meet someone looking "exotic", it might be polite to stop yourself from asking "where are you from?" 😁✌🏽

Saturday mood 😆
I got used to having super busy working schedule couple of years before corona hit, running own business most of the days were same busy, so I never really cared what day of the week it was. It felt like it was always Monday and I dreamt of having more free time... 😆
Now I can say that since March every day feels like Saturday, every day is holiday, which is not that great at all in the end. I've always said that intelligent people never get bored. After all these months I don't fully agree with it anymore, the longer it all lasts, the more often I feel too drained to do anything, even the things I've always wanted to do, but never had time for.
But today I'm using the excuse of Saturday to legally and without any guilt be lazy for a day 😉 Like this cat caught on Flores 🐱
And how's your weekend, are you spending it in an active way or rather chilling around?

Home is where your heart is. One thing that traveling always reminds me of is how happy can people be no matter what conditions they live in. Gratitude is the key, right? The most important thing though - TV antenna - is at almost every household 😅 And what is one thing you couldn't live without?
This is the village of Bajo, South East Asia's nomads who build their houses on water! They live on the shores of different SE Asian countries (although there are some 'civilized' ones who moved deeper into the mainland), eat only what they catch in the ocean and are some of the best free divers in the 🌏!
